Novel Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With Integrated Filter Inductor, Using Motor's Inherent Magnetics

A close functional and structural integration of passive elements is required to improve the power density motor drives. Such power-dense drives are prerequisites in aerospace automotive applications. This article presents a permanent magnet with an integrated filter inductor, which not only eliminates inductor losses but also removes its associated weight volume. The uses motor's inherent magnetics order use it as inductance instead adopting external option, traditionally placed outside motor. vector-controlled model, taking modulation switching effect into account, has been developed by using MATLAB/Simulink tool. To experimentally validate concept winding connections existing modified. comparative analysis, between traditional drive systems, carried out terms magnitude component, total system losses, weight, reduced 34.2% at 2100 r/min 3-N·m load, when compared whereas, volume eliminated completely.
